Shermans make short work of the Pioneers in the open!
The 2nd game of the tournament was against Table Top Gamers Diragi who was playing a German Pioneer list that looked like this
HQ
Infantry Company Comd
Combat
2 x Pioneers platoons with 2 Flame throwers and a Goliath
Support
2 x StuGs

SET UP
My objectives are in the two corners while the two destroy Tigers on my side of the table are Diragi's objectives.
Pioneers and Brumbars secure one objective.
StuG's secure the small town able to cover either objective.
Pioneers with a Goliath cover the other objective.
With the Brumbars on my far left I deploy almost everything on the far right. Here the guns hold the objective while Shermans, UCs and an Infantry platoon prepare to advance.
To keep him honest I deploy two platoons of infantry and the OC on my left flank.
TURN 1
The UCs move forward with their Recce move followed by getting the first turn and they hammer the Pioneers killing a stand.
The Shermans are wary of the StuGs main gun and attempt to use the ground as much as possible, while the infantry clear the houses around the gun line as they advance towards the objective.
The Pioneers and StuGs response by bailing a UC and causing the others to withdraw.
The Brumbars move out to get into the fight on the far right flank.
